IPL 2022 Auction Dates: BCCI in a fix, ‘Mega Auctions can’t be held before 3rd week of January’, check why?

Kagiso Rabada

South Africa’s premium pacer Kagiso Rabada has been phenomenal as a powerplay and death bowler specialist. He is expected to undergo a bidding war among IPL franchises for IPL 2022. He has played 50 matches and taken 76 wickets at an economy rate of 8.21. Overall, he has played 135 T20s and taken 311 scalps. Delhi Capitals had last bought him for Rs 4.2 crore which could rise up to 4 times at the mega auctions.

Quinton de Kock

SA opener Quinton de Kock will be the next big name after Rabada in the IPL 2022 mega auctions. He has scored 529, 503 and 297 in the last editions for Mumbai Indians. He will be a hot pick for the upcoming auctions. He has played 237 T20s and amassed 7113 runs that feature 4 centuries and 44 half-centuries. The former SA captain was bought for Rs 2.8 crore by MI in 2018. He is expected to be on the radar of a number of IPL franchises.

Lungi Ngidi

Another quality pacer from SA, Lungi Ngidi will also be looking for a decent IPL contract. He has played 14 matches for CSK and scalped 25 wickets at an economy rate of 8.29. CSK had bought him for Rs 50 lakh but his price could further increase to several crores owing to the demand for quality pacers with two new IPL franchises Lucknow & Ahmedabad also on the bidding table.

Aiden Markram

South Africa batsman Aiden Markram made his IPL debut during the UAE leg of IPL 2021. He amassed 146 runs in just 6 outings to keep himself in the fray for another IPL season. The 27-year-old has been impressive in T20s with 1732 runs in 70 matches which features 14 half-centuries. The stats are good for him to land an IPL contract even though he won’t get a big jump in IPL salary. His last IPL salary of Rs 50 lakh is unlikely to rise at the mega auction.

Rassie van der Dussen

The South Africa batsman is yet to make his IPL debut despite featuring in 140 T20Is. He has scored 4129 runs in the shortest format which features 3 centuries and 28 fifties.
