David Warner: David Warner who was a part of the Sunrisers Hyderabad team till 2021 was not retained by his team. As a result, the Australian opener was one of the most sought players ahead of the auction. But things took a turn during the auction. While fans were anticipating that Warner would cross the 10 Crore bracket, the player who had a base price of 2 Crores, joined Delhi Capitals for a price of 6.25 Crores. Warner has around 5500 runs in IPL and played 8 games in IPL 2021 where he scored 195 runs.

Quinton de Kock: One of the biggest shocks of the IPL 2022 Auction was the price at which Quinton de Kock was sold to the Lucknow Super Giants. Mumbai Indians had previously refused to retain de Kock after he had a good season last year and has been in terrific form in the recently concluded India vs South Africa Test and ODI series. The 29-year-old Proteas opener joined Lucknow Super Giants for a price of 6.75 Crores.
