The IPL 2022 Mega Auction will take place in Bangalore on12th and 13th February where Ahmedabad will mark the beginning of their IPL stint. From the drafts, the team has already roped in star players like Hardik Pandya, Rashid Khan, and Shubhman Gill.

Since Ahmedabad are the debutants and unlike the other teams, they cannot retain players, special allocations for picking players from the drafts were carried out for them and Lucknow.
Indian star all-rounder Hardik Pandya is set to captain his side and was bought for a staggering price of 15 Cr. Star spinner Rashid Khan was also acquired for 15 Cr and young opener Shubhaman Gill was bought for 8 Cr. The Ahmedabad team has a purse of 55 Cr from which they are required to buy 15 players.

1. Star Opener
David Warner is one of the star openers that will go under the hammer in the auction. Having already acquired Shubhman Gill, an opening pair of Gill and Warner is likely on the cards. T20 games often flourish on strong innings that are built up by the openers. A strong righthand-lefthand combination for the openers will be trouble for any opponent.
2. Shreyas Iyer
One of the highly talented players who are currently available for auction is Shreyas Iyer. Following his stint in the Delhi Capitals and being not retained, Shreyas finds himself with a team, ahead of IPL 2022. A dependable batter who can win matches on his own, Iyer will be a chief target for the Ahmedabad franchise. With a star opening pair, Iyer can take control of the hem of the top order of the batting lineup.
3. Wicket Keeper
The Ahmedabad team will be eyeing for a good wicketkeeping batter who can also score runs freely. With Hardik Pandya leading the side and his brother Krunal Pandya released from Mumbai Indians, it is highly probable that Ahmedabad will buy Krunal who will make a return to his state’s team. Hardik is a brilliant all-rounder and with the inclusion of Krunal, the Ahmedabad side will have a strong middle-order lineup.

5. Young Pacers
With star spinner Rashid Khan slotted in the lineup, Ahmedabad will be looking to bolster their pace lineup. Young Indian star pacers like Avesh Khan are already linked to the side and can cause havoc to the opponent’s batters. Australian star pacer, Pat Cummins can also be a target for this team.
