The IPL governing body stated in a statement “Mumbai Indians batter Suryakumar Yadav has been ruled out of the TATA IPL 2022 owing to a left forearm muscle injury. Mr. Yadav sustained the injury during the team’s fixture against Gujarat Titans on 6th May, 2022.”

“Suryakumar played 8 matches this season for the Mumbai Indians scoring 303 runs at an average of 43.29 that included 3 half-centuries,” the statement further read.
Despite missing the initial few matches because of another injury, Yadav has been one of the better batters for Mumbai Indians this season. He has scored three half-centuries so far – against Kolkata Knight Riders, Royal Challengers Bangalore and Rajasthan Royals.

Previously, the 31-year-old suffered a hairline fracture in his hand while playing for India in a T20I game against West Indies. With the ICC T20 World Cup 2022 being just around the corner, this development will be a cause of concern for the Indian fans as the lad from Mumbai has been one of the most consistent batters in IPL 2022 among the national team players.
