The former India all-rounder has played 17 ODIs and four Tests for India before becoming the chairman of the junior selection committee. Before his role as the junior selector, he was associated with Delhi Daredevils (now Delhi Capitals) in various capacities.

However, the negotiations are yet to be finalised with Aashish Kapoor and the new franchise’s director of cricket Vikram Solanki is in touch with him. If the negotiations are successful, he will join the coaching staff comprising Ashish Nehra (head coach) and Gary Kirsten (mentor).
Talent scout – While Aashish Kapoor will be appointed as the spin bowling coach, he as per a Cricbuzz report, he will mainly oversee talent scouting. Having spent as the chairman of the junior selection committee, he has great knowledge of the country’s talent pool that the CVC Capital-backed franchise want to take advantage of.
After quitting the selection committee post, he took up the job of Bahrain cricket and is preparing for the T20 World Cup qualifiers next month.

Bought by CVC for over Rs 5625 crore (over $750 million), the Ahmedabad franchise will be led by India all-rounder Hardik Pandya. The franchise has also roped in Rashid Khan and Shubman Gill as part of the three-player initial recruitment provision extended to the new sides.
Meanwhile, the Ahmedabad team has taken help of a professional agency to finalize their identity. Ahmedabad wants name with GUJARATI HERITAGE & has already finalized Hardik Pandya as captain of the team. The CVC backed team has hired a creative agency VECTOR to finalize their brand identity.
The agency according to the available information is working on finalizing the NAME of the team from Ahmedabad. The brief to the agency is that the name should gel well with CVC’s reputation, legacy and vision for the team.
