Hardik Pandya, who was nurtured by Mumbai Indians, was not retained. However, he has comfortably found himself in the skipper’s role of the new team based out of Ahmedabad.

In a recent interview, Hardik Pandya spoke about his mentor MS Dhoni and how the former captain of the Indian National team took special steps to groom the young talented player. Hardik revealed MS Dhoni let him make mistake on the field while guiding him through that.
“I have learned a lot from everyone, especially Mahi Bhai. When I went there, I was a raw material, and he gave me a lot of freedom. He wanted me to make my own mistakes and learn from them. He wanted me to learn on my own so that I could survive harder. He never shows that he’s there, but he’s always there for you behind the scenes. On the field, he wanted me to be rough, he wanted to learn things,” Hardik Pandya said.

Currently, recovering from a back injury, Hardik Pandya’s full focus is on returning as an all-rounder. IPL 2022 is expected to be his first assignment post recovery as he isn’t in Team India’s plans as a batsman.
“My preparation is all about playing as an all-rounder. My hard work is about being an all-rounder and I’m feeling good and strong about it. My way of leadership is about setting examples,” said Hardik on his recovery from his injury and his oncoming comeback to IPL 2022 and the National team.
Hardik has played in the IPL since 2015 and has consistently performed over the years, both with the bat and ball. In his stint at the IPL, he has accumulated 1476 runs in 92 innings with an average of 27.33 and has also picked 42 wickets.
