He soaked in all the pressure and then played his shots. Not for once did the youngster look out of control while batting.
Gill’s solidarity at the crease has enabled the other power hitters like Hardik Pandya, David Miller, and Rahul Tewatia to dominate from ball one.

- Bowling trio (Shami – Ferguson – Rashid)
GT’s stronger suit the bowling has been phenomenal with Mohammed Shami, Lockie Ferguson, and Rashid Khan firing collectively. In the first game against LSG, Shami wreaked havoc with ball in hand. He took three wickets and blew the LSG top order away. In the second game, Ferguson picked up 4 wickets against DC and did not allow the batters to settle in the run chase of 172.
Meanwhile, Rashid Khan has been superb in the middle overs. He has picked regular wickets and not conceding runs above 7 runs per over.

GT skipper Hardik Pandya’s return to bowling has been the highlight of the IPL 2022 so far. He has almost bowled his quota of 4 overs in 3 games. Pandya has also bowled at good speeds more than 135. The all-rounder has also contributed with the bat in hand by making a crucial contribution at number 4.
He has also looked calm and composed as a leader. Pandya’s 360 degrees contribution is proving an asset for GT.

Rahul Tewatia has proven to be a superb finisher for GT. In the three games that the southpaw has played, he has scores of 12 off 3 balls, 14 off 8 balls, and 40 off 24 balls. He has remained unbeaten in two innings. The all-rounder has teed off from ball one and killed the match within a blink of an eye. That he has overshadowed David Miller speaks volumes of Tewatia’s contribution.
