The IPL 2022 Mega Auction will take place in Bangalore on 12th and 13th February while the main competition is scheduled to commence from the last week of March. India had a disastrous performance in this overseas after losing the test series 1-2 and a humiliating 0-3 whitewash in the ODIs against the Proteas.

Bhuvneshwar Kumar: The star pacer has been plagued by injuries and poor form off late. However, this series was a perfect opportunity to revive this form and impress the teams before the IPL 2022 Mega Auction. However, Bhuvneshwar failed to perform to his standards as his numbers read, 0 wickets by giving away 131 over the course of the first 2 ODIs. This poor performance will surely have an effect on the upcoming IPL 2022 auctions. 

 

Shardul Thakur: The 30-year-old all-rounder had a wonderful chance to improve his chances of improving his salary in the upcoming IPL 2022 but failed to capture the opportunity. Shardul Thakur had a poor series after playing the first 2 ODIs where he picked just a single wicket by conceding 107 runs.

Ravichandran Ashwin: Ashwin who got his chance back into the limited-overs format of the game owing to his good performances in IPL for the past years had a disappointing series in South Africa. The 35-year-old after featuring in the first 2 ODIs picked just a single wicket before giving away 121 runs in the process.

The middle-order batsman scored just 54 runs in 3 ODI matches with the highest score of 26 runs in the last match. A player of his caliber performing such poorly ahead of the IPL auctions will surely have an effect on his IPL salary.
