The Phase 2 of IPL 2021 could be the former Indian captain’s final hurrah who is now in his 40s, having announced his retirement from international cricket last year. Dhoni remains one of the most successful captains in IPL history, having led CSK to three titles, and will hope to add a fourth in perhaps his final season.

IPL 2021 Phase 2 – Suresh Raina CSK: Speaking on Star Sports show Cricket Connected, Suresh Raina talked about MS Dhoni’s contributions in rebuilding the CSK side ahead of the second leg of the 14th season. The three-time champions suffered their worst finish in the history of the completion last year, but bounced back to be in contention for the playoffs this time around, before the league was suspended.

IPL 2021: Raina said, “Hopefully, when we go to Dubai, we will have a camp and we can again win it for him. I think the way we were playing this year, we were having some extra confidence from his captaincy and he was enjoying each other’s success. He was giving freedom to all the players and having Moeen Ali, Sam Curran, Dwayne Bravo and Ruturaj in the side, we had the momentum. Hopefully, we can do it again this year for MS.”

IPL 2021 Phase 2 – Suresh Raina CSK: It is no secret that Suresh Raina and MS Dhoni share a great bond on and off the field. The dup were the mainstays in the Indian batting order, while have been together in all seasons for Chennai Super Kings. The duo in fact retired from international cricket on the same day, and Raina had earlier revealed that he wouldn’t return to CSK next season if MS Dhoni does call it a day. Chennai will resume their IPL 2021 campaign at 2nd in the points table, only behind last year’s beaten finalists Delhi Capitals.
