Recently, as CSK took its first practice session at ICC Academy, Dubai on Thursday, MS Dhoni was spotted giving some serious batting advice to youngster Ruturaj Gaikwad.
With a close look at the video, the veteran player attempted to emphasise the CSK opener not to play a drive shot at the particular delivery. The 41-year old insisted the young player to let the ball come onto the bat and rather play a defensive stroke.
Besides, CSK’s training session had the following highlights:
- MS Dhoni was seen playing confident drives and over the ropes lofted shots.
- Karn Sharma spun a remarkable leg-spin to rattle the wickets.
- Suresh Raina lent some fine shots from the willow.
- Ambati Rayudu was spotted smashing the big hits.
Ruturaj Gaikwad stint with bat for CSK
The 22-year old has emerged as a promising batsman for the yellow brigade. Alongside senior player- Faf du Plessis, Gaikwad has given solid partnerships to the franchisee.
In the first leg of IPL 2021, the right-handed batsman played all seven matches for his side and amassed 196 runs. Besides, in the previous season, the young player was exceptional with the bat where he returned with an economy of 51 in the sic matches he had played for CSK.
With his already proven form last year in the UAE, Gaikwad can be the go-to man for CSK in the remaining matches of the cash-rich league

MS Dhoni-led side came back strongly in the IPL 2021 and is ranked second in the league standings after the end of phase 1.
CSK will kick off its IPL 2021 phase 2 against Mumbai Indians at Dubai and would be looking to continue its dominance.
