IPL 2021: 3 big reasons why MS Dhoni’s Chennai Super Kings could lift 4th IPL title in UAE – Chennai Super Kings (CSK) are one of the most successful franchises in the IPL, and after a disastrous 2020 campaign, the MS Dhoni-led side bounced back well in Phase 1. CSK have made it to the playoffs in all but one season, and following a brilliant start, the franchise are expected to do so this time around as well. However, MS Dhoni and Co. will not be satisfied with a top-four finish and will have eyes on the prize when they arrive in the UAE for Phase 2.

Here are 3 big reasons why MS Dhoni’s CSK could lift 4th IPL title in UAE

1. Availability of entire squad

Chennai Super Kings (CSK) will be the squad least affected by the international fixture pile-up ahead of the T20 World Cup. MS Dhoni is likely to have his entire contingent to chose from including star duo Moeen Ali and Sam Curran after the England vs Bangladesh was postponed. Mitchell Santner is also likely to be available despite New Zealand’s series against Pakistan, while Josh Hazlewood, Dwayne, Lungi Ngidi and Faf du Plessis are also expected to be available.

2. Flexibility and balance

While CSK did not have the best of their campaigns in UAE last time out, MS Dhoni and Co. are better prepared this time around when they land in the Gulf country for Phase 2. The additions of Moeen Ali, Krishnappa Gowtham and Robin Uthappa add further depth, while the return of Suresh Raina further strengthens their batting order. In Ravindra Jadeja, Sam Curran, Moeen Ali and Dwayne Bravo, Dhoni has four elite all-rounders giving his options to play with while in the field, while also adding to their batting depth. The likes of Deepak Chahar and Shardul Thakur are also reliable tail end batters, making CSK one of the most fearsome batting sides in the competition.

3. CSK in great form:

Before the IPL 2021 was suspended, Faf du Plessis, Ruturaj Gaikwad, Suresh Raina, Moeen Ali, Sam Curran, Ravindra Jadeja, Deepak Chahar all showed great form. If they continue to fire and MS Dhoni’s returns to form, CSK will be an invincible unit.
