Kidambi Srikanth beat HS Prannoy 21-7, 21-18 in a match that lasted just 39 minutes. Prannoy who beat Olympic gold medallist Viktor Axelsen in the quarterfinals could not find any rhythm against countryman Srikanth. Srikanth will now play the winner from the match between Kunlavut Vitidsarn and Anders Antonsen.

World No.7 PV Sindhu easily beat her Turkish opponent 2-0. The Indian shuttler won the two straight games 21-13, 21-10 to book a semifinal berth. Sindhu will now play the top seed Akane Yamaguchi in the Semifinals on Saturday.

Both Sindhu and Yigit were heading into the match with straight wins in the contest. The latter had last made it to the quarterfinals of the German Open. On the other hand, Sindhu had entered the semifinals of the French Open.
In her last game, Sindhu outclassed Spain’s Clara Azurmendi 17-21, 21-7, 21-12 in a match that lasted for 47 minutes.

Kidambi and Prannoy will face off for only 4th time in their career. The latter is yet to win a single contest against his counterpart. Kidambi leads the head-to-head contest 3-0.
Srikanth defeated Indonesia’s Jonatan Christie 13-21, 21-18, 21-15 and secured his place in the quarter-finals of the tournament. He had earlier impressed in the German Open and ready to book his place in the semifinals.
