The three-team tournament has been labeled the Hung Thinh Friendly Football Tournament, with hosts Vietnam and Singapore facing off in the first match on September 21. The round-robin champions will receive $ 30,000 in prize money, while the runners-up will receive $ 20,000. The third place prize is also worth $10,000.

“We are happy and grateful that we have received another opportunity to get together and check where we stand at the moment. All of us are looking forward to playing the two friendly matches,” head coach Igor Stimac told the AIFF media team. “This is going to be a truly exciting tour, especially three months after our qualification for the AFC Asian Cup 2023 in Kolkata in June this year.”
While the Indian football team is still in pre-season, players from the two rival teams are already playing competitive games on a regular basis in domestic tournaments, according to the coach. “But that is not going to deter us. Right now, we’ll do everything we can to maintain the momentum from the June qualifiers,” Stimac said.
India will begin the campaign against Singapore on September 24 against Singapore. This will be the 12th game that will be played between the two sides with India registering only four wins, having played the last game in 2012. While the Blue Tigers have maintained a much better record against hosts Vietnam, whom they are set to face on the 27th of the same month. Playing their last game against Vietnam in 2010, India boasts of bagging nine wins out of 14 along with three draws.

Goalkeepers: Gurpreet Singh Sandhu, Dheeraj Singh Moirangthem and Amrinder Singh.
Defenders: Sandesh Jhingan, Roshan Singh Naorem, Anwar Ali, Akash Mishra, Chinglensana Singh Konsham, Harmanjot Singh Khabra and Narender.
Midfielders: Liston Colaco, Muhammed Ashique Kuruniyan, Udanta Singh Kumam, Anirudh Thapa, Brandon Fernandes, Yasir Mohammad, Jeakson Singh Thounaojam, Sahal Abdul Samad, Rahul Kannoly Praveen, Lallianzuala Chhangte and Vikram Pratap Singh.
Forwards: Sunil Chhetri and Ishan Pandita.
However, some of the players, such as Laxmikant Kattimani, Prabhsukhran Gill, Rahul Bheke, Suresh Singh, and Rahim Ali, were very much in the coach’s plans but were unable to make the current list of 24 due to injuries.
