Team India suffered a huge blow with Jasprit Bumrah ruled out of the series with injury. Unable to recover from the injury, the pacer continues his rehab at NCA with a comeback on the cards during the ODI series. Shikhar Dhawan shared the image on social media and captioned it “ Discussion time with @jaspritb1”.

Despite being out of reckoning for Team India, Shikhar Dhawan continues to work hard at NCA hoping to make a comeback to Team India. The left hander will next feature in the upcoming IPL 2023 where he will lead Punjab Kings.
Bumrah on the other hand has started bowling in nets at NCA. There is now a chance that Bumrah will play in the final two Test matches of the series. A source while speaking to The Times of India said, “Yes, Bumrah has started bowling in the nets. Let’s hope all goes well and he’s declared fit,” .

Jasprit Bumrah’s injury update
Having suffered back injury during the England series, Bumrah was absent from the West Indies tour and the 2022 Asia Cup. However, the NCA and the selectors hurried his return before the T20 WC. After bowling only 6 overs against Australia, he was disqualified from the entire South Africa series as well as the T20 World Cup. Bumrah was selected for the ODI series against Sri Lanka after nearly five months of rehabilitation. But he was removed from the squad after complaining of a sore back.

While Bumrah continue shis recovery from injury, a BCCI official speaking to Insidesports said, “He is making progress but he is far from 100%. He needs another 2 weeks of rehab before making a return to competitive cricket. If everything goes well, he may play in the domestic before returning to Test series. But it depends on the selectors and his condition,”.
He added, “We cannot take any chance when it comes to players’ injuries. We already paid the price for a rushed return and he missed the T20 World Cup. He will only return when he is completely fit as he is crucial to our plans in World Cup. As for domestic, it is a good practice ground for all cricketers before going directly to international cricket,”
