With neither of Rohit Sharma, Virat Kohli, KL Rahul and Rishabh Pant being available, IPL 2022-winning skipper Hardik Pandya has been selected as the captain, with Bhuvneshwar Kumar being his deputy.
However, the main highlight from the team has to be Tripathi’s selection, as the Indian fans were not happy with his omission from the squad for the ongoing series against South Africa.

Tripathi scored 413 runs in 14 matches for Sunrisers Hyderabad in IPL 2022, at an average of 37.54 and a strike rate of 158.23. As for his overall T20 numbers, he has scored 2628 runs in 118 matches at an average of 27.09 and a strike rate of 134.01.
