Due to the recurrence of his back issue, Bumrah was forced to withdraw from the India vs. South Africa series. He was promptly pulled out of the practice and taken to Bengaluru for tests. Despite initial speculation that he would be completely ruled out of the T20 World Cup, the findings are encouraging. He has no stress fracture and might be accessible in 4-6 weeks. “Bumrah needs rest as that is the best medicine for back injury. For now, he will be in touch with the NCA medical staff. Nitin is directly overseeing his recovery. We are not ruling him out of World Cup completely. He will travel with the team to Australia and continue his recovery there. We have time till October 15 to make changes,” a senior BCCI official have told InsideSport.

Australia will host the 2022 ICC Men’s T20 World Cup, which will run from October 16 to November 13, 2022. This is the 8th edition of the showpiece tournament. Aussies are also this year’s defending champions.
