No Rohit Sharma in 1st ODI – After the Test series gets over, Rohit Sharma will take a short break and he will miss out on the 1st ODI at his home ground Wankhede. Instead, vice-captain Hardik Pandya will lead the side.
“Mr Rohit Sharma will be unavailable for the first ODI due to family commitments and Mr Hardik Pandya will lead the side in the first ODI,” BCCI said in a statement.
IND vs AUS ODI Squad: Major talking points –
- Jaydev Unadkat has been recalled to the ODI team after 10 years.
- The selectors have rewarded his consistent performances in domestic cricket.
- He replaces Arshdeep Singh, who has been struggling with no-balls.
- However, there is no place for Sanju Samson either.
- With no international cricket after the ODI series, Samson will have to perform in IPL to get a place in the ODI team.
- Meanwhile, Hardik Pandya will lead in the 1st ODI with Rohit Sharma taking a break following the Test series.
- But as reported by InsideSport, Jasprit Bumrah will not play in the ODI series.
