India Cricket Team has been dealt a blow with Shubman Gill missing the IND vs AUS clash. He is still recovering from dengue. And as a result, India have brought in Ishan Kishan to open with Rohit Sharma in Chennai. But with the Chennai pitch aiding spinners, Rohit Sharma has decided to go with three spinners in Ravichandran Ashwin, Ravindra Jadeja and Kuldeep Yadav in India Playing XI.
Shubman Gill tested positive for dengue and can also miss a couple of more games. This in turn creates a headache for India Cricket Team. Who will open for India with Rohit Sharma? There are only two options – Ishan Kishan and KL Rahul.
“Gill is feeling better today, we will take the call later – he hasn’t been ruled out yet – we will see how he feels the day after tomorrow,” India head coach Rahul Dravid said.
Ishan Kishan to open
But it is highly likely that Ishan Kishan will open proceedings with the Indian skipper. It will be a perfect setting for a right and left handed combo at the top of the innings. Virat Kohli obviously retains his spot at number 3 in India Playing XI vs AUS.
Down the order Shreyas Iyer and KL Rahul will look to anchor the innings should the Men in Blue experience a top order collapse. In the lower order, India has 3 finishers. Hardik Pandya will be used in a floater role in India Playing XI and can move up and down the order as the situation demands.

Ravindra Jadeja and Ravi Ashwin are very good with the bat and bring in handy runs should the situation warrant. Kuldeep Yadav, Mohammed Siraj and Jasprit Bumrah comprises of the bowlers slot.
