After narrowly losing the first game 19-21, Lakshya bounced back to take the second game 21-16. In the decider, Lakshya Sen dominated his Malaysian counterpart, taking the game 21-12 and the match 2-1. He will face reigning world champion, Loh Kean Yew of Singapore, in the final after the latter received a walkover due to Covid scare.

“I think the first game was pretty close, I committed some errors and that’s what cost me the first game. But I kept my calm in the second and third game, and in the end, I managed to win,” said Lakshya Sen after winning the semi-final clash.

In the final, he will be up against spurring partner Loh Kean Yew with whom he had trained in Dubai. The world champion recently revealed that the two are good friends.

“I think both of us are playing well, it will be a good match tomorrow. I am looking forward to playing against him in the final,” Lakshya Sen said.
