India Cricket Schedule: IPL Longer Window: It’s official, BCCI has managed to get a two and half months of window from IPL 2023 onwards. But what will be interesting to see is the clash of IPL and Pakistan Super League in 2025. The PCB has earmarked March-May window for PSL 2025, the same window when IPL 2025 will be played. While the BCCI has a fixed window from March to June every year for IPL, the PCB has earmarked January-February for PSL. However, in 2025, Pakistan will host the ICC Champions Trophy in February, forcing the PCB to move Pakistan Super League to March-May window. Hence, the closing part of PSL 2025 and first two weeks of IPL 2025 are expected to clash.

BCCI had promised all the franchises and the official broadcasters longer IPL window even before the ICC FTP was decided. The BCCI has delivered on its promise. The BCCI has cleared March 1st week to June 1st week from its schedule every year for IPL.

With the longer window now available, the BCCI will revert to the home and away formula from IPL 2023.

“While finalising our Future Tours Programme 2023-2027 in a tight and densely-packed cricket calendar, we have given priority to context, quality and player workload.  We have also tried to find an appropriate balance across all the three formats so that these continue to co-exist meaningfully,” PCB Chief Executive Faisal Hasnain said in a statement.

It will be the first time that a T20 League will go head-to-head with the cash-rich IPL. It will be interesting to see which tournament the players, plying their trade in both leagues, pick.

Due to security-related issues, Pakistan had missed out on hosting top teams in the previous three Future Tours and Programmes Cycles (FTP). However, that has changed in the latest cycle, which will see Pakistan play 13 Tests, 26 ODIs and 27 T20Is at home in addition to the Champions Trophy, leading to a packed calendar.
