India at Tokyo Olympics – Sumit Nagal lost to Daniil Medvedev, Tennis Men’s Singles – After Sumit Nagal became the first Indian to win a single’s match at the Olympics since Leander Paes, he came up against World No. 2 Daniil Medvedev. The match was thoroughly dominated by the Russian and Nagal could not even come close as he lost in straight sets 6-1, 6-2. The match lasted for 1 hour and 6 minutes.

India at Tokyo Olympics – Sumit Nagal lost to Daniil Medvedev: India tennis star Sumit Nagal on Monday bowed out of the ongoing Tokyo Olympics after losing the second round match against Daniil Medvedev here at the Ariake Tennis Court 1.
Medvedev defeated Nagal 6-2, 6-1 in the second round to progress further ahead in the Olympics. The entire match lasted for 1 hour and 6 minutes. The number two seed Medvedev dominated the first set, giving no respite to Nagal, and in the end, the Russian was just one more set away from progressing to the next round.
Medvedev continued with his charge in the second set and wrapped up the match straight sets. On Saturday, Nagal had defeated Denis Istomin to enter the second round of the men’s singles event in the Olympics.
On Sunday, the women’s doubles pair of Sania Mirza and Ankita Raina bowed out after losing their first-round match.

India at Tokyo Olympics – Sumit Nagal vs Daniil Medvedev Live: The Indian tennis ace has been a man for big stages and made his mark in the 2019 US Open. Playing against Roger Federer in his first-ever Grand Slam main draw, Nagal rallied and took the first set, before the Swiss great clinched a win in four sets. A year later he beat Denis Kudla at the US Open in 2013 before going out against Dominic Thiem, who went on to win the Grand Slam.
