Chasing a target of 173, Australia did stutter but India failed to take advantage. Radha Yadav dropped beth Mooney on 4 and it proved costly. She added 73-run opening stand with Healy to put Australia in firm control. While Vaidya gave India a breakthrough, India let another opportunity slip away. Tahlia McGrath was batting on 3 but Radha Yadav was the culprit once again. She failed to take McGrath’s catch and she went on to smash 29-ball 40 to give Australia a 1-0 lead, chasing down the target in 18.1 overs.

Earlier, A late surge from Richa Ghosh and Deepti Sharma has helped India amass 172/5. Although the match ebbed and flowed, India had a grand finish. Ellyse Perry had troubled India early on. But Deepti and Richa ensured India end with a competitive score. Deepti remained unbeaten on 15-ball 36 while Devika Vaidya also contributed 24.
