IND vs ZIM LIVE: Hrishikesh Kanitkar Batting Coach: Team India will have a new batting coach on the Zimbabwe tour. As the first team coaching staff including head coach Rahul Dravid are on a break, India U-19 coach Hrishikesh Kanitkar will be batting coach for KL Rahul & Co. The Kanitkar-coached team won the U-19 World Cup last year under Yash Dhull’s captaincy. While on Ireland tour, Sitanshu Kotak was the batting coach for Hardik Pandya & Co, it will be Kanitkar’s maiden voyage with the senior team. Kotak, instead, will oversee the U-19 camp at the NCA in Bengaluru.

“He has done an excellent job with the U-19 team and that is why he has been elevated to the role for the Zimbabwe tour. It’s only good for both. The senior team will also benefit from Kanitkar’s expertise as a lot of players have worked with him at the NCA. Besides, VVS will be there. All the players have a great rapport with VVS,” a senior BCCI official told InsideSport.
