Without a shred of doubt, Gudakesh Motie has been the most prominent bowler for the hosts. After dispatching Indian skipper Shikhar Dhawan, Motie went to displace a set Shreyas Iyer as the hosts aim for a comeback after a rampant Indian assault. A fine lofted delivery on the leg stump saw Shreyas Iyer making room in an attempt to go big over the fences.
It was a perfect opportunity for Shreyas Iyer to score big runs. Having scored a sensible fifty, Iyer wanted to switch gears in an attempt to go big. But an extraordinary effort from West Indies skipper Nicholas Pooran saw Iyer returning back to the dressing room. With outstretched hands, while leaping in the air, Pooran went on to catch the ball mid-flight in the air.

Shreyas Iyer who practiced hard at nets yesterday was able to put past his lukewarm form and score a much-deserved fifty. Iyer came to crease at No. 3 following Shubman Gill’s dismissal. Iyer played a decent knock where he went to provide company to his skipper, Shikhar Dhawan.
In this process, he played a sensible knock where he scored a fine knock of 54 runs from just 57 deliveries. His innings consisted of 5 fours and 2 huge sixes. Iyer could have gone on to score an even better score had not Pooran gone on to pick a blinder of a catch.
