Shikhar Dhawan is a veteran in India cricket, having played 152 ODIs and 68 T20Is besides 34 Test matches. However when it comes to the current Indian squad in the West Indies, the likes of Shubman Gill, Ruturaj Gaikwad, Avesh Khan, Prasidh Krishna among others have not played much for the national team.
“I am excited to lead the ODI side. When I get a chance to play alongside the youngsters in the team, it gives me an opportunity to share my experiences. Everyone has that skill in the team, and I also love to share about the mental strength about how one can grow and I always share it and bring an impact in their games,” said Shikhar.

The southpaw has touched upon a very important side of the game, which is not talked about much. When it comes to youngsters, they have nerves before they set out to play, and it is at that juncture where the experience of Shikhar can play an important role.
