In a video posted on Twitter, Shanaka can be seen giving autographs to the fans. He also clicked selfies with some of the people. To note, Shanaka was in excellent touch in the T20I series. He finished as the second-leading run-getter in the series behind Suryakumar Yadav. Shanaka amassed 124 runs in three games averaging 62. He played at an astonishing strike rate of 187.88 hitting five fours and 11 maximums. Shanaka was also adjudged player of the match in the second T20I match.

Sri Lanka had a great opportunity to win its first-ever bilateral series in India. But the brilliance of Suryakumar Yadav got in their way. Moving to the ODIs, Shanaka and his side would be looking to achieve their goal.

In the World Cup year, India would be strengthened by the availability of its full-time skipper Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli. Its best bowler Jasprit Bumrah was also named in the series.
