Team India’s victory not just ended in a win but also sealed the ODI series 2-0 against Sri Lanka. “We obviously finished on the right side of the result, which is incredible and fantastic. But even if we didn’t finish on the right side of the result, the fight that we put forth was absolutely brilliant. Well done all of you.”
IND vs SL ODI series:The former Indian player recognized the team’s efforts and hailed the boys’ zeal for keeping their steel. “It is not the right time to talk about individual names at this point of time, obviously there have been fantastic individual performances, especially towards the end. But we have talked about that in our meetings, acknowledged and recognized everyone’s contribution in this game. But I think when you look at the whole game, it was a really good team performance. Many performances right across bowling, batting even at the start or even at the guys who finished it off in the end. It was a fantastic team performance. Well done to all of you!”
Dravid also mentioned how Lankans came back strongly to give India a close fight in the second contest. “We said that they were going to respond, we knew we have to respect the opposition, they are also an international team. They responded and we responded back like a champion team. With our backs to the wall, we found a way to win. Very well done to all of you! Fantastic!”
Soon after the spine-chilling speech from Dravid, the dressing room flooded with thunderous applause.
IND vs SL ODI series: Deepak Chahar: Man of the moment
The three and a half minute video featured Suryakaumar Yadav praising Deepak Chahar who cruised Team India to a glaring win with his vital 69-run knock. The clip also featured Bhuvneshwar Kumar, the man standing with Chahar of how their strategy was all like during their partnership.
The video also saw raw emotions coming from Chahar who minced, “Really good. We won! Got a chance to bat besides undertaking complete fielding earlier during the match. Feels great batting after performing batting for 25 overs as I rarely get a chance to get on with the willow.”
