Records Kohli broke in Guwahati ODI
- Kohli scores has now equalled Sachin Tendulkar’s home ODI record of 20 tons.
- It took Sachin 164 matches, while Kohli took only 101 matches.
- Kohli overtakes Sachin’s record of 8 centuries against Sri Lanka in ODIs. Kohli now has 9 hundreds.
- Kohli has 45 ODI tons, only 4 less than Master Blaster Sachin Tendulkar
- Kohli has 73 tons in international cricket, the second highest in ODIs
Kohli starts 2023 on a high
Kohli’s innings came to a close in the 49th over, when he was out for 113 in only 80 balls. This was not before he has entered into the record books. The ODI ton in Guwahati, was his second consecutive hundred in the format. Kohli scored his 72nd Century in his last ODI against Bangladesh in Chattogram.
The monkey is surely off his back now. With Virat Kohli ending his first century in India in over three years, stopping Kohli looks highly difficult. Good news for Team India, as they look to build momentum heading into the 2023 Cricket World Cup.
