In the 2nd ODI against SriLanka, Kuldeep took Kusal Mendis as his first blood. Kuldeep Yadav bowls an outstanding ball to get rid of a dangerous-looking Mendis. The ball pitched around the middle and sneaked past the outside edge totally confusing him in his defense. The ball tracker showed the ball was hitting on the top of the middle and off stump.
Kuldeep Yadav then scalped the wicket of Dasun Shanka. The SriLankan captain tries to sweep the ball, but he’s moved far too across the line exposing almost both the middle and leg stump. Shanaka missed the shot and the ball knocked out the leg stump.
Asalanka was never ever comfortable against the spinners. As Kuldeep bowled at him, Asalanka tried to played on the back foot and chipped it back to the bowler for a simple catch. Kuldeep Yadav waited a bit for the ball to arrive and then took the catch.
With his performance, Kuldeep has crashed the SriLankan batting. Now, as he performed so well in the first opportunity he got this year, he has silenced his critics. Kuldeep was never the first preference for the team India, Yuzvendra Chahal was the favorite one. But now, with his bowling performance against SriLanka in the second ODI, he sends a message of a reality check to the team India’s selectors.
