Shreyas Iyer played a remarkable knock in the first innings, where he hammed a brilliant 92 off just 98 balls in a knock that consisted of 10 fours and 4 sixes as India went on to post 252 runs on the board at the end of the first innings. Disappointed on missing out on his ton, a determined Iyer continues to bat brilliantly in the second innings as he brought up his fifty by playing a classic cover drive.

Rishabh Pant scored a quick-firing 50 off just 28 balls to break a 40-year-old record set by Kapil Dev in 1982. While Kapil Dev achieved his feat in 30 balls, Pant became the fastest Indian to register a test fifty in just 28 balls. After Pant’s dismissal, Iyer continued his emphatic batting as he and Jadeja built a 50-run-partnership.
After Jadeja was dismissed on 22, he played a small partnership with Ravi Ashwin, before the latter got dismissed on 13. Iyer missed his century yet again on the second innings when he was dismissed by Embuldenya after having scored 67 off 87 balls with 9 fours. India looks comfortable and in the driver seat to wrap up the match and seal the series 2-0.
