Sri Lanka has almost put one foot in the finals after winning both their Asia Cup Super 4s matches against Afghanistan and India. If Pakistan manages to win against Afghanistan in the next game, then Sri Lanka will play the finals against Pakistan.

“The environment has been simply superb in the team. The confidence in the dressing room gave us the confidence to win the game. I think the batting (won us the game). The bowler bowled well in patches. Credit to Dilshan, Theekshana and Chamika – they bowled well in this game,” said Shanaka.

“The Indians came hard at us but we managed to restrict them well under 180. We had a good discussion after the first game. We were down early in the tournament but we knew what we could do. Pathum and Kusal were absolutely brilliant today – they set the tone for us before Rajapaksa and myself finished it off. Due to the team combination, Chamika has always been bowling four overs for us. So I haven’t been bowling my quota of overs. I need to take the best decision for my team,” concluded Shanaka.
