Rishabh Pant who had been initially appointed as the vice-captain of the squad was elevated to the captaincy role after KL Rahul was ruled out with injury. Rishabh Pant and his side encountered tough losses in the first two games but went on to win the next two games in an emphatic fashion to level the tie.
But, it can be said that luck has not favoured the young Indian skipper throughout the tournament. Losing the toss aside, Rishabh Pant has endured a poor run of form. In four matches, he has scored 57 runs with a strike rate of just 105.55.

Keshav Maharaj who filled in today in the skipper’s place as Temba Bavuma’s replacement won the toss and opted to field first. The match has been delayed after a downpour washed the M Chinnaswami Stadium. As per the latest updates, the match will resume from 7:50 PM IST and will be a 19-overs-a-side game.
Rishabh Pant was seemingly in a happy mood after losing his fifth consecutive toss in the series. The young skipper went full smiles and patted the back of Keshav Maharaj as a mark of appreciation for winning the toss. Though Pant has lost the toss, he and the Men in Blue will be desperate to continue their terrific form.
