When it comes to making comments about cricket on social media, Shoaib Akhtar, the Rawalpindi Express, is quite outspoken. It was expected that he would criticise the Men in Green after Pakistan’s Thursday defeat to lowly-ranked Zimbabwe.
He berated captain Babar Azam for “making incorrect choices” on social media, claiming he had little hope for such a team.
Akhtar claimed that he had earlier predicted that Pakistan which is currently all but eliminated from the World Cup would return home soon. The team would return the following week, he said. The former speedster, though, did not stop there.
The Indian team, which is leading Group 2 after winning both of its games, was also criticised by Akhtar. He claimed that the Indian team will be ousted in the semifinals and that it would return home the following week.

“I have been saying this repeatedly, these openers, the middle order aren’t good enough for us to get success at this level. What can I say? Pakistan has a bad captain. Pakistan is out of the world cup in the second game. Against Zimbabwe,” Akhtar said on his YouTube channel.
“Babar, come one down but he is not listening. Major flaw in Shaheen Afridi’s fitness. Major flaw in captaincy, management,” he added.
“Main pehle bhi keh chuka tha, Pakistan is hafte wapas aa jaegi. Aur agle hafte India wapas aa jaegi. Woh bhi semi-final khel ke wapas aa jaegi. Woh bhi koi itne Tees Maar Khan nahi hai (I had earlier predicted that Pakistan will be out in the first week. Next week India too will be knocked out. They may play the semis but they are also not Tees Maar Khan),” Akhtar said on his YouTube channel.
