Virat Kohli bounced back from his 2nd ODI duck in fine style with a clutch half century at Cape Town. Kohli walked in to bat in the fifth over of the innings.
Kohli struck a 98-run partnership with Shikhar Dhawan, who also chipped in with a half-century. The former Indian captain eventually reached his 64th half-century, and his second of the series.
Kohli was cheered on by his wife Anushka Sharma and daughter Vamika, who celebrated joyfully from the stands. The match was the first time Vamika was captured on camera.

Kohli was eventually dismissed for 65, meaning that a fairytale return to Newlands didn’t beckon for the Indian talisman. Kohli had scored a fine 160 not out in his last ODI at Cape Town, but this time couldn’t repeat the feat, meaning his century drought stretched further than the ongoing 20 months.
