Rohit Sharma opted against Dinesh Karthik for the game against Pakistan, handing Rishabh Pant and Deepk Hooda an opportunity to impress. The Men in Blue’s plans were in disarray after Avesh Khan and Ravindra Jadeja were ruled out due to illness and injury respectively.
Pant was retained in the middle order having not got an opportunity to bat, with Hooda replacing Jadeja at No.7 in the side. While Karthik has done nothing wrong, the permutations and combinations were as such that the veteran had to sit out of the contest.
Jadeja was ruled out with a knee injury.
