Virat Kohli played one of his greatest innings as he almost single-handedly guided India to an improbable win over Pakistan in front of a 90,000 crowd at the MCG. Chasing 160 to win, India were in all sorts of trouble having been reduced to 31/4, but Kohli alongside Hardik took the game to the final over.
Needing 48 from the last 18 balls, Kohli launched an attack on Shaheen Afridi and then took on Haris Rauf to reduce the equation to 16 off the final over. While the 33-year-old went berserk, Hardik was struggling on the other end with his injury and laboured running.
Babar Azam had exhausted his fast bowling reserves and had to go to Mohammad Nawaz for his final over. India needed 16 with Hardik Pandya on strike. Here’s how the eventful over panned out:

India thus sealed a four-wicket win and swung the momentum in their favour in Group B It is also a timely revenge after the Men in Green had defeated India in their last t20 World Cup encounter in Dubai last year. Virat Kohli’s form is a huge plus for India as they head into the other matches in the tournament, while Mohammed Shami, Arshdeep Singh, Bhuvneshwar Kumar and Hardik Pandya all got wickets with the ball.
