Pakistan Cricket Dressing ROOM – Babar Azam Inspirational Speech: Pakistan Cricket Board after the match posted a video featuring Matthew Hayden, Babar Azam, and Saqlain Mushtaq telling their players to chin up following the heartbreaking loss in Melbourne.

Babar unequivocally said that there should be no finger-pointing following the 4-wicket loss. The 28-year-old urged his teammates to keep their attention on the forthcoming games and avoid getting sidetracked.

“Brothers, it was a good match. We put in the effort like always. We put in the effort, but some mistakes happened. But from those mistakes, we have to learn, we shouldn’t fall. The tournament has just started, we have lots of matches left, remember that,” Babar said in his dressing room speech.

“We didn’t lose because of one person. We all lost as a team. Nobody should point fingers at one person. This should not happen, not in this team. As a team we lost and we will win as a team. We have to stick together, remember that,” the skipper continued.

“We have had good performances as well, so look at those also. The small mistakes that were made, we need to work on those as a team,” he said.

Additionally, the skipper advised Mohammad Nawaz, who bowled the final over, not to take the outcome personally.

“Don’t worry Nawaz. You are my match winner and I will always believe in you. You will win matches for me. It was a pressure game but you took it very close so very well done,” Babar said as the dressing room erupted in applause.

“Whatever it is, leave it here. Going ahead, we will start afresh. As a team, we played very well and we have to continue like this. Wish you all the best,” he concluded.

IND vs PAK Highlights – What happened in the last OVER? A controversial waist-high full-toss call by square-leg umpire Marais Erasmus, which went for a six from Virat Kohli’s willow was followed by three bye runs after Kohli was clean bowled by Mohammad Nawaz on the free-hit, allowed India to achieve the 160-run target off the final ball after they required 16 runs off the last over.

Nonetheless, Pakistan should never have been in this situation in the first place after they held the match by the scruff of its neck after reducing India to 31 for four in 6.1 overs. And then limiting the traditional rivals to 112 for four after 17 overs, needing 48 runs from three overs.

Shaheen Shah Afridi conceded 17 runs in the 18th and Haris Rauf, after conceding three runs in four balls, went for successive sixes as the target came down from 28 runs in eight balls to 16 runs in six balls.

Virat Kohli buried the ghost of Pakistan’s 10 wickets victory in the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2021 in Dubai 12 months ago when he led his side to an unlikely loss. Kohli returned unconquered on 82 from 53 balls with six fours and four sixes, and together with Pandya, added 113 runs in 78 balls.
