Mentor Singh Dhoni spent considerable time with Hardik Pandya & Co besides Team India analyst during practice in Ranchi. The former India captain also held conversations with Ishan Kishan, another local boy.
Kishan will keep wickets, and Dhoni being one of the finest ever, passed on some advice to the gloves man. Hardik all soaked in whatever the former captain had to say as he prepares for another series as captain.
Before Rahul Dravid’s appointment, MS Dhoni has served as team mentor during the T20 World Cup. While India suffered a group stage exit, Dhoni remains one of the most respected players around for his acumen.

A young India squad was visibly pleased to see him up close. While the likes of Hardik Pandya and Washington Sundar have spent considerable time with him, youngsters like Shaw, Shivam Mavi and Jitesh Sharma had a look at how the captain cool thinks.
Before Dhoni’s visit to Team India dressing room, Hardik Pandya had earlier taken to social media and posted picture of him and MS Dhoni together. He captioned the image ‘Sholay 2 coming soon. Pandya was seen posing on a bike with Dhoni.
Dhoni’s visit is unofficial as things stand. While a Mentor capacity is always possible, the BCCI are yet to announce anything in that regard.
MS retired from International Cricket in 2020, having last played against NewZealand in 2019. He has since been active in the IPL, leading the Chennai Super Kings. Dhoni himself has been training as he gears for a return, in what could potentially be his final IPL season.
