- Harshal Patel replaced Siraj in India Playing XI on Friday. At the toss, Rohit Sharma said: “We have one change, Harshal comes in for Siraj.” However, he didn’t shed light on the details.
- The youngster had taken a blow in his hand during the 20th over as he tried to stop a speeding delivery hit with brute power by Kiwi allrounder Mitchell Santner. Despite being in pain, Siraj decided to finish the over.
- Siraj had conceded 39 runs in four overs and taken a wicket in the first game that India won by five wickets.
