IND vs NZ LIVE – Mount Maunganui Weather Forecast: Hardik Pandya-led Team India arrived in Tauranga early Saturday morning. It was tradional Maori ‘Powhiri’ welcome for the team. A Maori welcoming ceremony generally involves dances and singing and the hongi in the end. It is used to welcome guests onto a marae and during other festivals.  After Wellington Washout, the weather in Tauranga is also not looking encouraging.  The rain had its final say as the match was abandoned without a ball being bowled in Wellington. But both teams will now be hoping for better weather at Bay Oval in Mount Maunganui on November 20. Follow INDIA vs NewZealand LIVE & IND NZ 2ND T20 LIVE Updates with InsideSport.IN

With one game being abandoned, Hardik Pandya will get two games now to show off his vastly improving T20 credentials. The all-rounder has impressed one and all by leading Gujarat Titans to victory. With BCCI set to hand over T20 reins to Pandya, he has a golden opportunity to prove his worth.

At his disposal, the 29-year-old will have quite a few young players like Shubman Gill, Ishan Kishan, Sanju Samson, Umran Malik, and Mohammad Siraj. It was with this team that Pandya had success during the T20Is against Ireland.

The all-rounder will aim to have a similar kind of success against the Kiwis as India embarks on a new T20 journey. Meanwhile, New Zealand have also placed their bet on youngster Finn Allan to come good.

The hard-hitting batter is being given a longer rope to show his class. Not only Finn, but Blair Tickner is also another youngster in who New Zealand are willing to invest. Skipper Williamson will also be eager to show his not finished in the T20 format.

Mount Maunganui Weather Forecast

After the first match was abandoned in Wellington without the toss, the weather news from Mount Maunganui is also not encouraging. The forecast suggest heavy showers during the IND vs NZ 2nd T20. The weather gods haven’t been kind in the Trans Tasman region over the past couple of months, but Hardik Pandya and Co will hope to get a game away at the Bay Oval.

In what is grim news for Indian cricket fans, the IND vs NZ 2nd T20 also faces the threat of a washout with incessant rains forecasted for the game on Sunday.

While there is only a 6% chance of rain at the start of the game, the threat significantly rises as the match progresses with a 64% chance of rain during the mid-innings break.

Considering the forecast, a washout is on the cards which is not the best news for Hardik Pandya and Co. The Men in Blue were set for a T20 reboot, and have already been robbed of a game in Wellington. Another washout would deplete the morale of the squad, while also denying opportunities for fringe players to make a mark.
