Meanwhile, India will be locking horns with NewZealand in the third T20I at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad on Wednesday. After the hosts were handed a setback in the opening game by 21 runs, they made a strong statement in the next match with a six-wicket victory to keep the series alive. However, the Indian team was given a reality check by the Kiwis who fought valiantly despite defending just 100 runs.
While the Indian bowlers showcased extraordinary performances in the last game, the batting was bit of a letdown. The hosts could have found themselves in total disarray had it not been for Suryakumar Yadav who successfully added the finishing touches. The Men in Blue will need to work on their batting ahead of the decider, which has misfired throughout the series.
New Zealand bowlers were exceptional with the ball in hand during the series opener where they succeeded in defending a manageable total of 176 to draw first blood. They had also got to a competitive total courtesy of their middle-order brilliance capitalizing on India’s errant bowling. Even though the Kiwis’ batting looked completely off-color in the previous fixture, the bowling made things tough for the famed Indian batters.
