An out of touch Virat Kohli laboured on a Dubai track to reach a welcome half-century against Hong Kong on Wednesday. Not one of the prime attacks in the world, the 33-year-old had the perfect opportunity to get some runs under his belt and he did so with style.
While Suryakumar Yadav on the other end went on berserk mode, Kohli nudged it out for singles and doubles, finding it difficult to get the middle of the bat. The 33-year-old often struggled and played out a laboured knock in front of a packed crowd.
He eventually reached his milestone in 40 deliveries, reaching out for another record in T20Is. Kohli now has the joint most half-centuries in T20is, pairing up with Rohit Sharma at the top of the list. However, the former Indian captain has played 33 innings less than the Hit-Man to reach the landmark.
