Malan tweaked his left groin in England’s final Super 12s group match against Sri Lanka. But England will be banking on Liam Livingstone to deliver the goods in the semifinal against Rohit Sharma-led India in absence of Malan.
Livingstone can be seen getting ready and butchering the ball hard during his practice session in a video that England Cricket posted on Twitter on Wednesday.
The daring hitter is frequently criticised for playing spin poorly. In contrast, when playing against top-tier spinners Moeen Ali and Liam Dawson, he was timing the ball with absolute precision.
The balls were hammered out of the netting by Livingstone, who displayed excellent footwork.
