When Suryakumar came to the crease India was languishing at 31-3. With the series already sealed in favor of the visitors, India aimed on inflicting a whitewash on England. Determined to save India from the blushes, Suryakumar unleashed his carnage at Trent Bridge where he went on to hit shots all over the park.

Set to chase 216, India needed strong innings from their middle-order batters. Suryakumar Yadav not only went on the aggressive front but also etched a steady partnership with Shreyas Iyer. With the rest of the batters crumbling after scoring single-digit scores, Yadav took it upon himself to go on the charge. Following his century, Yadav was given a standing ovation from the English fans for his awe-inspiring knock when he was dismissed on 117 by Moeen Ali.
