As per ESPN Cricinfo, James Anderson missed England’s training session on Wednesday at Lord’s as he is suffering from a tight quad. England pacer Saqib Mahmood, who plays limited-overs cricket for England, has been added as cover for Stuart Broad in England’s squad for the Lord’s Test. Meanwhile, spinner Dom Bess is set to leave the squad and return to Yorkshire, confirmed England cricket on Twitter.
“Lancashire seamer Saqib Mahmood has been added to the squad as cover for the second Test against India. Spinner Dom Bess will leave the squad and return to Yorkshire this morning,” the ECB said in an official statement.

IND vs ENG, 2nd Test: Saqib Mahmood added to England squad as cover for Stuart Broad for Lord’s Test
The development comes a day after Stuart Broad got injured during training session. As per reports, he has been ruled out of the Lord’s Test.
Meanwhile, the arrival of Moeen Ali as specialist spinner meant Dom Bess will lose his place in the England squad. However, Jack Leach has kept his place in the England squad.
