After Anil Kumble, Ashwin is India’s most successful spinner in the five-day format. The test series against Bangladesh will give him the chance to break Anil Kumble’s record. Kumble holds the record of the fastest to 450 Test wickets. The legendary leg spinner took 93 Test to reach the figure. Ashwin has 442 wickets from 86 Tests and he needs 8 wickets in the IND vs BAN 1st Test to reach the landmark.
Australia’s Nathan Lyon completed 450 Test wickets during Australia’s win over West Indies in the second Test. Ashwin will look to overtake the Australian spinner during the two-matches series.
