IND vs AUS: Watch Rohit Sharma TEASES Alex Carey with FAKE DRS Call, Fans Roar in Laughter
India skipper Rohit Sharma teased Australia batter Alex Carey with a Fake DRS Call. Sharma went on to showcase the DRS Call and then waved his hands show ball moving away from the stumps.
IND vs AUS: It is not proper cricket if the teams try to play mind games on their opponents. One such incident took place in Day 2 of the India vs Australia WTC Finals. India skipper Rohit Sharma played mind games with Aussie batter Alex Carey over a late DRS review call.
Mohammed Shami in the opening part of Day 1 notoriously swung the deliveries back at the batters prompting the ball to hit hard on the pads. There were quite a few shouts for the LBW which the on-field umpires were unwilling to entertain. Despite Shami’s repeated appeals for leg before wicket, Indian skipper Rohit Sharma didn’t take DRS call as the ball would have missed the leg stumps.

The incident in concern took place in Mohammed Shami’s over. A well pitched delivery in line at the stumps, goes on to hit Carey on his pads. Shami immediately appeals for the lbw which the umpire shrugs off. The Indian players have a small huddle to discuss whether to take the DRS call or not.
Interestingly Rohit Sharma goes on to put the DRS action, but with his right hand he cheekily shows that the ball was swinging away from the leg stump. The Indian players and the crowd fell in roars of laughter after watching this cheeky action from the Indian captain.
Carey was taken aback watching the antics of Rohit Sharma. But leaving the confusion and the funny incident aside, India didn’t opt to take the DRS call and the game went on to proceed as per normal.
