Former Australia captain has predicted Australia to win the BGT series 2-1. Border has backed Steve Smith to score the most runs, and tipped the right-hand batter to bag the player of the series award. The expert feels Kuldeep Yadav will be the highest wicket-taker
Adam Gilchrist
The wicketkeeper batter has echoed the sentiments of Border and has gone with Australia taking the series 2-1. Gilly has backed Khawaja to score the most runs and has predicted Pat Cummins to take the most wickets.
Ravi Shastri
Ravi Shastri has backed India to win the series 2-0. He feels Australia will give a tough competition but has ruled out the possibility of the visitors winning a single Test.
“As far as the series result goes, I think India should back themselves to win this series by a two-match margin. You’re playing at home; you’ve got the bowlers for that. You’ve got the batting line-up as well. I think you’ve got to put pressure from Test match one,” said Shastri.
Sunil Gavaskar
Former India opening batter has gone with India to win the series 2-1. Gavaskar feels beating India at home will be difficult for Australia.

For the unreserved, Australia have not beaten India in sub-continent conditions since defeating them in 2004. India are the current holders of the Border Gavaskar Trophy owing to their 2-1 win in the 2020-21 Test Series Down Under. While Australia have booked a place in the WTC final, India needs to win at least two games to play the Test Championship final for the second time.
