IND vs AUS Live: Team India are in a spot of bother against Australia in the third Test match of the Border-Gavaskar Trophy. The home side is bowled out for just 163 runs in its second innings setting a target of 76 runs for Australia to win the match. None of the Indian batters except Cheteshwar Pujara managed to apply themselves on the crease. Meanwhile, who played a decent knock of 59 runs smashed his second six in his last 52 innings. Pujara was facing after completing his fifty. The right-handed batter slogged the delivery over midwicket which brought a big smile on Rohit’s face. To note, Rohit had sent out a message for Pujara between the overs to take charge against the Aussie bowlers. It should also be noted that this is Pujara’s first six since 2021 when he smashed the NewZealand spinner Ajaz Patel for a maximum.
Overall Pujara has stroked a total of 16 sixes in his total 101 Test matches so far. Pujara seems to like Australian bowlers to take the full toll as he has stroked four maximums against Aussie bowlers. To note, he has hit most number of sixes against SouthAfrica (5). Apart from 16 maximums, Pujara has smashed 853 fours in his Test career so far.
“It is a tough pitch to bat on. It is not easy and you need to trust your defence, you need to make sure to get to the pitch of the ball and try to judge the length early. I know it is not enough but still there is a chance (to win). You need to do that on such pitches, if you keep defending then there’s one ball which will bounce and hit your glove, you need to find the right balance between attack and defence,” said Pujara.
