India have played thrice in Ranchi, winning all three games played at the venue. The Men in Blue return to the ground 4 months, having hosted SouthAfrica in an ODI in October. The stadium hosts a capacity of 50,000 and fans can expect a thriller.
IND vs NZ Ranchi Pitch Report: The pitch at the JSCA International Stadium is expected to favour the batsmen. A Jharkhand Cricket official confirmed to Samachar Plus that the curators were making a pitch to aid run scoring. Traditionally, the surface has offered a balance between both bat and ball.
In the 28 T20 games played at the ground, only once has the team batting first managed to score above 200. The average first innings score ranges in the mid-160 range. However, given the nature of surfaces in recent times in India, it would not be a surprise should teams score above 200. Dew is also set to be a factor and one can expect teams chasing to enjoy more comfort on the surface.
